The Art of Kung Fu Panda 3 mentions that character effects supervisor Nathan Fok and his team was charged with "enhancing the animators' desires to create specific silhouettes and expressions" of Tigress' character (likely because of her more prominent role in the film than the rest of the Furious Five[1]). He comments on her new robe that "while the sleeves and loincloth have challenging interactions to manage, they are a good point of expression for animation." Character designer Nico Marlet also helped with their task by decorating the robe in lilies that do well to artistically portray tiger stripes.[2]
